we lit up these lanterns, and that's my share of mooncake, yummy.. hmm.. candles of hope =)
we call it "Mid-Autumn Festival" now. But when i was still young, i called it "Lantern Festival". Recently, it would be very common to notice kids holding battery-operated lanterns, swaying to and fro, with midi playing away on the streets. Defeat the purpose of lantern festival. 
I still prefer the traditional kind of paper lanterns, which u really use REAL candles, hold the lanterns using lean wooden sticks fastened to them. Every second, there's a fear of the candle's flame going off, or the lantern catching fire. It adds excitment to this festival, and most of all, the meaningfulness that it brought to my childhood. At times, i petty the children nowadays...Happy Lantern Festival to all, a moment to spend time with your family.
